The Buquebus catamarans are pretty good boats with all the comforts, including air conditioning; a necessity in this climate.

With my love for boats I had been wanting to get on one of these, and this was a great reason to do so.

We departed from the terminal at Puerto Madero and headed out across this vast river to Colonia on the other side.



The river is the color of coffee, apparently silty from logging, and other erosive activities upstream. It is called the Rio Plata or Silver River, but bronze would be more accurate; the visibility in the water is a matter of inches.
