Palermo 2007
One of the most famous neighborhoods of BA, Palermo is also a regular hangout for artists, artisans and students. I had much fun, and met many very friendly people here.
The only constant is
change
Heraclitus of Ephesus (c.535 BC - 475 BC)
I met these two University students, and they could not speak English, and I could hardly speak Spanish, but we still had a blast.
Don in La Baita
Portenos love their dogs, and take them everywhere.
People hangout all night long, even until daybreak.
Bro and I met two more students, and we all had great laughs communicating to some degree.
Silveria could speak some basic English, but her friend could not at all.
Will I ever stop falling in love? I sure hope not.
Silveria and Esteban.
Am I too old? Of course!!
Don poses in La Baita, a fine restaurant we returned to several times.
La Baita displays modern art. Every business has paintings or sculptures, modern, classical; there are no limits. I think the only rule is that no building can go without some art.
I only scratched the surface regarding the Palermo experience. There are several great restaurants, coffee houses and bistros spread out for many blocks, and I loved every one that I did get to sample. La Baita had great fare, and Bro and I went back several times just for their outstanding lasagna.
